Aim : To determine the reaction of quick line or calcium oxide with water .

Procedure : Take small amount of calcium oxide or quick line in a beaker and add water to this .

CaO. +. H2O -----------Ca(OH)2

Observations: We saw that when calcium oxide or quick line reacts with water then it changes into Calcium hydroxide or slaked lime and The temperature becomes hot due to the large amount of heat evolved during the reaction .
