MONOHYBRID

A monohybrid cross is a mating between two organisms with different variations at one genetic chromosome of interest. The character(s) being studied in a monohybrid cross are governed by two or multiple variations for a single locus.

DIHYBRID

Dihybrid cross is a cross between two different lines/genes that differ in two observed traits. According to Mendel's statement, between the alleles of both these loci there is a relationship of complete dominance - recessive. In the example pictured to the right, RRYY/rryy parents result in F1 offspring that are heterozygous for both R and Y (RrYy).[1]

________

♣ MONOHYBRID

✍️ a hybrid that is heterozygous with respect to a specified gene.

♣ MONOHYBRID CROSS

✍️ This cross is based on the first law of genetics i.e Law of Segregation.

✍️ A monohybrid cross is a mating between two organisms with different variations at one genetic chromosome of interest.

✍️ A monohybrid cross is when the offspring of homozygous parents that only differ on a single trait are bred to come up with the second generation.

♣ DIHYBRID

✍️ a hybrid that is heterozygous for alleles of two different genes

♣ DIHYBRID CROSS

✍️ A dihybrid cross describes a mating experiment between two organisms that are identically hybrid for two traits.

✍️ A hybrid organism is one that is heterozygous, which means that is carries two different alleles at a particular genetic position, or locus.

✍️ The purpose of the dihybrid cross was to determine if any relationship existed between different allelic pairs.
