Limestone is a sedimentary rock which is often composed of the skeletal fragments of marine organisms such as coral, foraminifera and molluscs. Its major materials are the minerals calcite and aragonite, which are different crystal forms of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). About 10% of sedimentary rocks are limestones.

⭐⭐Characteristics of sedimentary rock :-

A sedimentary rock is composed of layers, kost often composed of particles that are cemented or formed by compaction.

They contain pores or open spaces, are mixtures of minerals and rock types, the compaction is typically a result of gravity.
