Sample has 12%Cl- i.e. mass of sample is (100/12)* mass of Cl-
AgCl mass ppt is 0.5g,
No. of moles of AgCl = 0.5/143 = 0.0035
Thus same no of moles should be present in the sample as well.
Thus mass of Cl- is 0.0035*35.5 = 0.124g
now 12% of sample weighs Cl- ions
Thus mass of Cl- ions = 100*0.124/12 = 1.0314g
