The temperature will only remain constant whilst theheat source is still being applied. ... At the boiling point all the heat energy is being converted to kinetic energy, causing the particles to move faster, and as they reach the surface they will 'escape' the liquid and become gas particles

when we heat the water, its temperature will increases and reaches to its boiling point. at it's boiling point whole heat given will only weakens the intermolecular forces present between the molecules of water. and temperature will not change..

And when whole is converted into steam it's temperature will again rises up..
