hey dude if u know the formula of quantities then u can easily write the units its dimensions without any mistke

eg volume:-(a)3=[L]3

area:-(m)2=[L]2

density=mass/volume
kg/(m)3
=[M]1[L]3

HOPE THIS HELPS U

Heya!!
U can write dimensions of any physical quantity and it's S.I unit as well...

For eg->
•volume => (a)^3 => L^3
here, the S.I unit of length is metre (m)
so, it's S.I unit will be => m^3

•There are other units known as derived units which don't have a special name assigned to them....

•For eg->
acceleration= (v-u)/t
Velocity S.I unit is ms^-1 and time S.I unit is s
=>ms^-1/s
=>ms^-2

•There are other units also which are known as derived units which have a special unit assigned to them!

•For eg-> Force
Formula for Force = mass × acceleration
=>kg × ms^-2
=>kgms^-2

Kgms^-2 is assigned the name newton(N)

•Power = Work done/ time taken
here, we have to first take the formula for work done,
So,
Work done = Force × displacement
Though, we know S.I unit of force is N, we will use it's derived unit i.e Kgms^-2
=>kgms^-2×m
=> Kg m^2 s^-2

we use this in Power's formula,
=> Kg m^2 s^-2 / s
=> Kg m^2 s^-3

This unit has been given a name watt (W)...

Here, if u remember the derived unit, u can give its formula!!
But it will be better if u learn the formulas and then give its units...

Hope these examples helped u understand this explanation.....
Have a great day ahead...
