answer:-- mean=12.17 median=12.5

Step-by-step explanation:

1. mean

Given,. no. of girls,. n=6

we know

mean =  \frac{sum \: of \: all \: observation}{number \: of \: observation}

i.e.

mean =  \frac{9 + 10 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15}{6}

i.e.

mean =  \frac{73}{6}  = 12.17(approx)

(ii) median

first arrange observations in ascending order

i.e.

9,10,12,13,14,15

Since,. no. of observation , n= 6

so,

median =  \frac{ (\frac{n}{2}) {}^{th}  term + ( \frac{n}{2}   + 1) {}^{th} term}{2}

i.e.

median =  \frac{ (\frac{6}{2})  {}^{th} term + ( \frac{6}{2}  + 1) {}^{th} term}{2}

i.e.

median = \frac{3 {}^{th} term + 4 {}^{th}term }{2}

i.e

median =  \frac{12 + 13}{2}  = 12.5

hope it helps
