ATQ,

The sum of 3 and 2x equals to the quotient of x and 5.

Quotient of x and 5 = x divided by 5

= x/5

Therefore 3 + 2x = x/5

➡ 5(3 + 2x) = x

➡ 15 + 10x = x

➡ 10x - x = -15

➡ 9x = -15

➡ x = -15/9

➡ x = -5/3

VERIFICATION :-

LHS :-

= 3 + 2x

= 3 + 2(-5/3)

= 3 - 10/3

= (9 - 10)/3

= -1/3

= 4/3

RHS :-

= x/5

= (-5/3) × 1/5

= -1/3

LHS = RHS. Hence verified!

The value of x = -5/3

Answer:

The sum of 3 and twice x equals the quotient of x and 5 .

To find : x .

= x/5 .

= 5(3 + 2x ) = x

= 15 + 10x = x

= 10x - x = -15

= 9x = -15

x = -15/9

x= 5/3.

Verification :

RHS :

= x/5

=(-5/3) × (1/5)

= -1/3

LHS :

= 3 + 2x

= 3 + 2 (-5/3)

= 3 - 10/3

= (9 - 10) / 3

= -1/3

= 4/3.

x = -5/3.

So, It is Verified .
