 consider this situation in a triangle ABC 
AB= AD+DB
where AD=height of statue
DB=height of pedestal

join DC

in triangle BDC 
BD/BC = tan 45
let BD = x metre
x/BC = 1
x = BC

now in triangle ABC
AB/BC = tan 60
(AD+DB)/BC = root3
(1.46+x)/BC = root3
putting value of root3 = 1.73 
this gives
x = 1.46/0.73 = 2 metres
