acquired traits and the inherited traits. Why are the traits/experiences

acquired during the entire lifetime of an individual not inherited in the

acquired traits are those which are developed in the organism during their life time these traits are because of non _reproductive tissue and cannot be passed to next generation

inherited traits are those which are because of reproductive tissue and can be passed to next generations

The physical appearance such as the eye color hair color and height etc are the inherited traits. These are passed on by the parents to the off spring

While the features or characteristics that are learnt or copied by observing someone are the acquired traits such as clothing style, speaking style etc

Acquired traits are not transferred to next generation because they don't affect the genes of a person.

They're external and don't get transferred to next generation.

Example:

If the tails of a generation of the rats is surgically removed, then the next generation will still be born with a tail as surgical removal of tail didn't affect the genes of the parents.
