Answer:

Area of trapezium ABCD = 88cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

l(AB) = 13cm

l(AD) = 8cm

l(DC) = 9cm

To find: Area of trapezium ABCD

Solution:

We will consider :

l(AB) and l(DC) as parallel sides

&

l(AD) as height

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (Sum of lengths of parallel sides) × height

➾ A(trapezium ABCD) = 1/2 × [l(AB) + l(DC)] × l(AD)

➾ 1/2 × (13 + 9) × 8

➾ 1/2 × 21 × 8

2 and 8 gets cancelled as divisible by 2

➾ 1 × 21 × 4

➾ 88

∴ Area of trapezium ABCD = 88cm

Area of trapezium = 1/2 * Height * ( Sum of parallel sides)

= 1/2 * 8*(13+9)

= 4* 22

= 88

Area of trapezium = 88cm^2
