Gwalior is a major city of Madhya Pradesh with the population of 11.6 Lakhs. Gwalior was named by King Suraj Sen, who name that place on the name of Sage Gwalipa, who quenched the thirst of King and cured his disease of leprosy when King was lost in jungle while hunting. It is famous for its forts and temples. Last ruling dynasty of Gwalior were Scindiyas. Apart from being rich in cultural heritage it has also developed as a educational hub. It have Jiwaji University, MITS Gwalior, LNIPE(Second largest institute for Physical Education in Asia), The Scindia School and many others. For sports, it have Captain Roop singh Stadium(Where for first time ever in ODI cricket a batsman had scored double century i.e. Sachin Tendulkar) and Railway Hockey Stadium. Samosas, Kachoris, Jalebi, and Gazak are famous and mouth savouring foods there.
