Sri Ram was the emperor of ayodhya. He was the son of dhasharatha. His wife was Sita. Dasharatha had three wives. One of dhasharatha a wives who wasn't Ram's mother, wanted her son to be the heir of the throne. Dhasharatha had promised her that she would fulfil any one wish of hers. So she plotted against ram and asked dhasharatha to send ram to the forest for exile. Dhasharatha had to accept her wish. While in the forest, the cruel demon, ravana kidnapped rama's wife Sita. His journey in finding her and ruling ayodhis after the exile is given in Ramayana the great epic.
