I agree with you. Triangularly cut bread does taste better than Square (regular w/crust) bread because square bread or regular bread has crusts to make it taste bad and triangular bread taste better with no crusts.

I think it is because of the crust, with a square sandwich you are more likely to eat crust as it runs along 2 edges as opposed to one. It seems like you get less of the soft sandwich with a square too, even though you don't.
