Intermediaries are that person who plays the role as a mediator between two parties....

Here mediators are landlords between Britishers and Indian farmers....

These mediators gained profit by exploiting farmers in the terms on interest and taxes....

So when after Independence India launched its Agrarian reforms then,, it was the main motive to abolished the intermediateres...

It means that between govt and farmers there will be no any person as a transporter and farmers paid taxed directly to govt...
