hlp me..
1) Why is the base of a cooking pan generally made thick?
2)The human ear detect continous sounds in frequency range from 20hz-20000hz. Assuming corresponding to the sound air is 330m/s for all frequencies , calculate the wavelenghts corresponding to given extreme frequencies of the audible range

1) The base of a cooking pan is generally thickened to increase the heat (or thermal) capacity and also to provide sufficient amount of energy in the form of heat for the cooking of food.

2) Let us consider a sound having frequency 200 Hz which is audible range of sound.

So, Sound velocity (v) = 330 m/s (Given)
Frequency (f) = 200 Hz.
Wave length = (330/200) m.
= 1.65 m [Ans.]

But, you can consider any frequency of sound but be sure its audible frequency.

1.The base ismade up of metal, which is a good conductor of heat. By making the base of a cooking pan thick, its thermal capacity becomes large and it imparts sufficient heat energy at a low temperature to the food for propercooking.
2.16.5 m and 0.0165 m.
