  1. When their is a reduced formation of the alpha peptide is called Alpha Thalassemia and Beta Thalassemia is when there is reduced formation beta peptides .
  2. For both symptoms are almost same like paleness, fatigue, jaundice, enlarged spleen.
  3. Main cause of Alpha Thalassemia is genetic mutation of Alpha genes on chromosome 16 and for Beta Thalassemia , genetic mutation of beta globin genes on chromosome 11.
  4. Alpha Thalassemia occurs when one or more of the alpha genes are deleted and Beta Thalassemia occurs as a result of genetic changes to beta globin genes.
