- When their is a reduced formation of the alpha peptide is called Alpha Thalassemia and Beta Thalassemia is when there is reduced formation beta peptides .
- For both symptoms are almost same like paleness, fatigue, jaundice, enlarged spleen.
- Main cause of Alpha Thalassemia is genetic mutation of Alpha genes on chromosome 16 and for Beta Thalassemia , genetic mutation of beta globin genes on chromosome 11.
- Alpha Thalassemia occurs when one or more of the alpha genes are deleted and Beta Thalassemia occurs as a result of genetic changes to beta globin genes.
