The story “Salvatore” is written by the author W. Somerset Maugham.

The story begins with Salvatore as a young boy, who possesses a charming smile. He falls in love and later he goes to do military services, and there he becomes homesick and develops the illness.

So he is found unfit and sent back to his hometown, where he meets his family and finds that his fiancée had denied marrying him.

But later he marries another girl and stays happy as a good husband and a great father.

The main theme of the story is the better quality found in Salvatore, and so his name is set up as the title.
