when the velocity of river water decreases, sediments gets deposited from suspension . such soils are called as alluvial soil. it consist of alternate layers of sand+silt+clay. It is formed by the river carried huge deposits such as SAND ,SILT,CLAY

The main advantages of alluvial soil are; They are very humus rich in nature and are fertile. They are rich in potassium and are highly suitable for the agriculture
