kharif crops ; eg : rice
Rabi crops ; eg : wheat

Crops are classified into two types on the basis of the season::

1) Kharif crop -- crops grown in the season of summer ; the time period is from June to September ; example - wheat , millet 

2) Rabi crop -- crops grown in the season of winter ; the time period is from October to March ; example - barley , mustard
