How are fats digested in our bodies? Where does this process take place?

fats are digested stomach and intestine in acidic medium due to the enzymes like lipase, bile juice and villi absorbs the digested fats like glycerol and fatty acids and transports it for the body through lymphatic system by lymph

  • Fats entering in the small intestine are in the form of large globules.

  • The digestion of fats completes in the following steps :

i) Bile salts break large globules into small globules.

ii) Pancreatic juice secreted by pancreas has enzymes lipase which breaks down the emulsified fats.

iii) Enzymes secreted from the walls of small intestine finally converts fats into fatty acids.
