Digestion of fats takes place in the small intestine with the help of bile juice which act as emulsifiers and break down the larger fat droplets into smaller ones. They are then acted upon by lipase enzyme found in pancreatic juice which convert them into monoglycerides and fatty acids.

Fats are present in the form of large golubles in the small intestine. The small intestine gets secretion in the form of bile juice and pencretic juice respectively from the liver and the pancreas. The bile salts break down the large golubles into small golubles. This is referred as emulsification of fats.
