Answer:

A rainbow is formed when light (generally sunlight) passes through water droplets hanging in the atmosphere. Some individuals refer to refracted light as “bent light waves.” A rainbow is formed because white light enters the water droplet, where it bends in several different directions.

Answer:

Rainbow is formed by dispersion of sunlight by tiny water droplets present in the atmosphere. It is always formed in the opposite direction of the sun. These tiny water droplets acts as small prism to refract and disperse the incident sun rays and refract it again. They finally refract again when they come out of rain drop. Due to total internal reflection and dispersion, spectrum of different colour is formed.
