The bishop is a kind hearted person. He does not hesitate to give all his wealth for the happiness of the common people. He is always worried about other people more than himself. However the bishop is not practical in his life as he does not consider the fact that he will not be able to live if he gives all his possessions to others. On the other hand Persome is a very practical woman who might not be very kind. But she knows that she need her money to live a life and would not give all her possessions for charity. She is not the best person and is very mean. Even though the bishop and Persome have such contrasting personalities Persome cares a lot for her brother's prosperity.
