How can life of people living in mountain regions be improved

My experience has been that living in a mountain region is far better.

I grew up in north-central Indiana against a forever flat agricultural landscape. The only reprieve was my family’s annual trip to the Soky Mountains in Tennessee.

In 1989 I transferred to Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN which is just about 30 miles east of KNOXVILLE. My area is nothing but hills and distant views of the Smoky Mountains that I used to roam as a kid.

Upon graduation from Carson-Newman, I married a local girl and landed a job in KNOXVILLE. I’ve never even remotely considered going back to a plains region. The landscape in East Tennessee is amazing…I just wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else.

People here are great as well. KNOXVILLE has some typical urban issues but it’s still very livable.

So, give me a mountain region anytime over a plains area. Life is just better in my opinion.
