heya,

to be a moderator you need to be a -
>> trusted user.
>> content quality answers.
>> knowledgeable user.

there are 3 stages, these are -
stage 1-->  brainly star..
you have to be brainly star first, after that you have to complete the target of brainly star which is of 200 answers with avg. of 45 words per answer in a month.. after that you will be elected to benefactor.. 
stage 2 --> brainly benefactor.
if your answers are much good you will be a benefactor directly.. otherwise you have to complete the target of brainly star so that you can be a benefactor. and agin you have to complete the target of the benefactor which is about 300 answers with avg. 60 words per answer in a month..
the last stage --> brainly moderator. 
after completing the target of benefactor you will be an apprentice moderator.. you will have all the privileges which a moderator have.. and again your target will be 50 moderation per day.. 
for the 1st month of moderator you will be an apprentice moderator after that you will be a moderator..

what is the work of moderators?
the work of moderators is
>> to delete invalid questions/answers. 
>> can give you edit option if there is a small mistake. 
>> can delete comments, profile pic.
>> can approve the answer which is 100% not copied, no mistake..
