how can you say that a body is in motion? is it a common property?

Actually it depends on the reference you are talking about for example for you if you and your friend is stationary with respect to your self ..then it might happen that you aren't still ..for someone else ...this do happens with everyone we are still on earth when we stand with respect to ground but we do move as the earth is moving.

if the object is changing its place from one place to another with time ,it is said to be in motion.....
