Brutus justified Caesar’s assassination by saying that he was dangerous for Rome. He accused Caesar of being ambitious. He said if Caesar lived all romans would become bondmen. He succeeded in convincing people that he and his accomplices assassinated for the welfare of Rome.

Brutus and the other assassins justified the killing of Caesar by claiming that he wanted to be king, or ‘rex’ in Latin. After they killed him, they proclaimed themselves to be ‘Liberatores’, liberators. They claimed that all they had done was for the good of the republic, and they were preventing it from collapsing. Didn’t end well for them did it?
