When Gulliver came to know from a friendly lord about the conspiracy being hatched against him by the Emperor and some of his ministers, he felt alarmed and angered. He was also told by the lord that certain articles of impeachment had been framed against him. There had been held several secret meetings to decide Gulliver's fate. It had been finalized that Gulliver would be punished by blinding followed by starvation to death.
Gulliver felt resentment on the secret plan to harm him. He even thought of wreaking havoc on the kingdom of Lilliput, but decided against it. Gulliver decided to sneak away to Blefuscu, by wading across the channel that divided it from Lilliput.
