Gulliver accepts the request of the Liliputian king to help them as their neighboring empire Blefuscu had a plan of an invasion. Gulliver views the fleet of magnificent men of war across the sea on the shore of Blefuscu. He communicates to the king of Liliput about his resolve to capture the whole fleet and bring it over to the shore of Liliput. He takes help from expert seamen to give the exact depth of the channel which, otherwise he was told, was six foot. He examines the fleet with the help of binoculars and found there were fifty men of war. He orders a great quantity of strongest cables and iron bars. He then attaches fifty hooks to as many cables as he can, takes off his coat, shoes, and stockings and walks up to the fleet. He fixes the hook with his knife and cuts the cable that fastened the fleet to the anchor. A volley of arrows was shot towards him, but he wore his spectacles to protect his eyes and with great ease the fifty men of war towards the shore of Liliput. The emperor was delighted and received him with great fanfare and honored with the rank Nardac on the spot.
