When joe Thompson take her home he laid her down in a soft bed . mrs thompson was unable to accept maggie as her daughter because since they did not have any child there was motherly affection absent in her . one day when maggie was ill she fed maggie and took care of her like she was her own daughter .tgat is when her motherly affection arroused in her.
