He explained it by depicted a cross between a tall pea plant (TT) that is regarded as a dominant trait and a shirt pea plant (tt) which is recessive. In the F1 generation he got all tall plants (Tt). When he self crossed the F1 generation he got tall as well as dwarf plant.
