When Sunil Gavaskar was born his uncle, Narayan Masurekar also known as Nan kaka noticed that there was a small hole near the top of the left ear lobe. After the babies were bathed by mistake he was exchanged with a fisherwoman's baby. This hole helped the people to identify him and bring him to his parents.
If providence had not marked him out like this he would have grown up to be a fisherman. He was lucky to be identified and brought back to his parents. Thus he got a chance to become a cricketer.
