the british differentiated between the rich and the poor on the grounds of cricket.
(A)the social status was reflected in the customs of cricket as well. the amateurs entered the ground through different entrances and always got the privilege to bat. they were the captain of the cricket team and the rules of the game were made in their favour.
(B) but , those who played cricket for money were poor and had no aristocratic value.they were called players.
(C)  according to them, those who play cricket for pleasure and satisfaction were rich and had an aristocratic value.they were called amateurs or gentlemen.
