In the 1990s, under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was the Prime Minister in the P. V. Narasimha Rao government, an Economic Liberalisation Plan was charted out and initiated. It focused on growth of the economy. A slew of measures and policies were introduced towards this objective, making it easy for companies to do business and grow.
Private organisations were quick to grasp this opportunity and since then, there has been no looking back. India has seen a giant growth in technology – especially transport and communication and culture alike. International trade grew and India is now a leading economy.
