Answer:

The poems of sir William Watson are very lyrical in nature.

‘The Ballad of Semmer water’ is a poem about a land under the semmer water where there is a king’s palace.

The king and queen’s attitude towards life and not so well to do people are sketched throughout the poem.

It is a poem of high moral value and therefore it is generally taught to children in school level. The poet tells the story of a magnificent place which was ruled by King and Queen. This town was built around the Lake of Semerwater. Once a beggar came to the palace and was returned without food. The beggar cursed the Kingdom of Semerwater and it vanished forever without leaving any trace of existence.
