How did the Tsar nurse the wounded man?

The bearded man fainted before reaching to the king. Then the king and the hermit removed his clothes and found out a big wound in his stomach. The king washed it and bandaged it with his hand kerchief and rounded the wound with the hermits towel. But the blood would not stop flowing. So the king rabandaged it and soaked the wound with a towel dipped in warm water until the blood stopped flowing.
