By conservation of energy law, we know that total energy of the partical will be conserved, means potential energy plus kinetic energy of the pendulum ball will be conserved.
At the highest point kinetic energy will be zero all energy convert to potential but at lower point all enery convert to the kinetic energy and the potential energy is zero because there are no height.
So KE max = PE max
KEmax = mgh`
= m g (h-h*cos theta) =mgh(1-cos theta)
