how do human values help in the development of character?
Answers
Answer:
Values shape character. If I value honesty, I will strive to be honest. If I value kindness, I will strive to be kind when kindness is of a higher value than honesty in a specific circumstance. I will strive to be honest when honesty is the higher value of the two. I will strive to be both as far as possible.
If I value accountability, I will strive be accountable. If I value fairness, I will strive to be fair. If I value respect, I will strive to be respectful.
If I value wealth over honesty, respect, fairness and accountability, I will lie, smear campaign, cheat and steal to acquire wealth.
Values do not necessarily affect or shape personality as personality is an aspect of a human being closer to the surface. While it is true that many selfish, unkind, dishonest people have personalities to match, it is also true that many such people display incongruently warm, caring, sincere personalities.
