They help in cleaning forest by eating dead animals. Because both Hyena and Jackals are scavenger animals and they consume dead animal which is killed by other animals in the forest.

After the death of animals, they start degrading due to growth of bacteria. Dead animals can be harmful to the environment because they release a foul smell which can spread disease.

Therefore, Jackals and Hyenas are important in cleaning up the forest.
