Insects when land on a flower for nectar or some other purpose the pollen grains stick to the body of the insect.Again when the insect land on other flower it transfers the pollen grains. In this way it helps in cross pollination

the insects transfer the pollen grains from the anther of a flower of a plant to the stigma of a flower of another different plant or different similar plant. thus insects help in cross-pollination and thus it further gives us varieties of flowers.

hope it helps you....
