Modern farming practices involve the use of synthetic fertilizers.

They pollute the atmosphere, water and soil and also lead to nutrient pollution.

The farming techniques do not employ crop and animals at the same time. Therefore, as a result, many important minerals like calcium, potassium and magnesium leak out from the soil.

Furthermore, animal feeds are laced with heavy metals like lead, zinc, cadmium, etc. for enhancing growth.

The manures of these animals also contaminate the surrounding. Hence, modern farming practices coverts fertile soil into barren soil through these ways.
