When we do a lot of exercise at that time we need more energy to do continues exercise.
For getting energy the cells of our body oxidized the food under combustion to form energy by taking rapid oxygen.
Since the muscle cell in this process didn't get the required amount of oxygen to breakdown food.
So they start forming energy in the absence of oxygen in which lactic acid is formed.
And that lactic acid cause cramps in our muscles.
