Hello mate,

Here is your answer,

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Genetic variation occurs as alleles in gametes are separated and randomly united upon fertilization.

The genetic recombination of genes also occurs during crossing over or the swapping of gene segments in homologous chromosomes during meiosis.

Variations happen due to inaccuracies in DNA copying.

In this variations arise in an organism.

Genetic variation is advantageous to a population because it enables some individuals to adapt to the environment while maintaining the survival of the population.

Example -bacteria variants which can tolerate heat have high survival chance than the non-variant bacteria that have no capacity to tolerate heat.

HOPE THIS HELPS UU :)

Answer :

Variation can be defined as the differences among individuals within a same species which develops due to the mixing and assortment of genes of the parents that is passed onto the offspring’s.

This helps in the individualism of any organism from the other organisms of same species or within a community.
