Why do you think the Himalayan Rivers flow towards the south east

we all know liquids (in this case water) flow from high pressure to low pressure or from high altitude to low altitude ..

if we look at northern plains of india ,,, then we can see how the slope or height above sea level changes if we move from uttrakhand to uttar pradesh to bihar and then west bengal .. There is an inclination towards east in the northern plains of india ..if we take example of holy river THE GANGES ,it flows south down the mountains and then south east to west bengal and drain into bay of bengal.

further,

there is no rule that himalyan river will flow in south east direction only . if we look at other major himalyan rivers( Indus and Brahmaputra) which dont flow in south east direction .
