Hii There!!

Weathering is a process of decomposition of parent rock.
However, due to such small amounts of precipitation in deserts soil.Soil is sand in nature and salinity in nature.
When temprature is increased evaporation is faster.Hence, less in humus content which posses favourable conditions for the weathering of rocks.
Hence, Weathering occurs in desert area.

Hope it helps

Weathering in desert can be done by two methods mechanical weathering, which does not change the rocks chemical composition.Other one is physical weathering granular disintegration, frost shattering and block seperation. All these occuir because of large temperature range.During the days high temperature the rocks expands and at due to low temperature they contract.this happening continuously leads to breakage of rock and soil formation.
