How do you feel that role of ancient guru has changed in present society?

answer is : If by Guru you mean a teacher, the role(ideal) remains much the same. A ‘Guru’ is a person who takes his disciples from darkness to light, from ignorance towards knowledge. The present day teacher also has these responsibilities on shoulders.
But the motive of gurus or teachers, we may say has changed a little. Back then, Guru had no/ little expectations from his disciples. But at present, the situation is very much evident.
The respect for a guru has also undergone a lot of change. A Guru was one of the prominent persons in the society back then, but know , again the situation is very much evident.
