lightning conductor is in buildings.there is metal plank present below the building and metallic rod is attached to it.It protects when lighting flashes out

Lighting conductor is fitted on skyscrapers so that lighting should not strike it..
It consists of a copper rod & a copper wire attached to a plank which is directly taken into the ground so when lightning strikes, the copper rod attracts it and directly transfers it into the ground.....Thus saving the skyscraper from getting destroyed by lighting.....
