Vaccines are like a training coarse for the immune system. They prepare body to fight disease without exposing it to disease symptoms. When foriegn invaders such as bacteria and viruses enter the body , immune cells called lymphocytes respond by producing antibodies which are protien molecules

Anugya: Dont take it offensively but there are lots of immune cells of different types. Lymphocytes is a type of agranulocyte which is of two types B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes. B lymphocytes produces Y shaped antibodies which neutralizes bacteria and viruses. T lymphocytes are of again 4 types. Cytotoxic T cells, Memory T cells, Helper T cells and regulatory T cells.
Anugya: Each T lymphocyte has its own way to deal with foreign organisms
Anugya: Except Helper and Regulatory T cells
Anugya: There are also immune cells called granulocytes which are mainly phagocytes. As there are granules present in enzyme they help them to digest the foreign invaders.

Vaccines are made up of dead and weakened disease causing organisms which when injected. Our body treats it like a foreign antigen which is harmful to us.Then our immunity system starts producing antibodies designed to kill the antigen of that specific organism and we get immune against that disease

This is how a vaccine works.
