• When an acid reacts with a metal carbonate, a salt, water and carbon dioxide are produced:

Acid + Metal\: carbonate \rightarrow salt + water + carbon\: dioxide

• The salt that is produced depends upon which acid and which metal react.

Example:

CaCO_{3} is a Metal Carbonate
When CaCO_{3} reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid ,forms carbon dioxide gas & solution of calcium chloride.

•Calcium Carbonate reacting with HCl to form Calcium Chloride, Water and Carbon dioxide.

CaCO_{3} + 2HCL \rightarrow CaCl_{2} +H_{2}O+CO_{2}

anwar515: thanks
Avengers00: my pleasure (:

Na2Co3 + H2SO4 ----- Na2SO4 +

H2O + CO2
